Squier Cyclone discontinued ... Already?!
For some reason I was just thinking about how much I like the 24 3/4 scale...
And then suddenly thought maybe I should get one of those Cyclones everyone has been talking about.
So went on Fender's website to have a peak... lo and behold, they are gone!
I mean, not the end of the world. I can still buy one online. Or search high and low for a Toronado. Or just suck it up and get a 25.5 VM JM when the new ones come out this summer, which I'm sure will be awesome.
But just surprised... those Cyclones have been out for how long? Five months? I mean, I know some of you hated the necks, but still that's gotta be some kind of Fender record.

Yeah, I don't understand their business model, but they often fail to showcase what they are selling.

Did we ever determine if the necks on these guitars are conversion neck or true Cyclone necks? It would be worth picking up a cheap used one for a 24.75" scale project (cyclone/Toronado) down the road just for the neck.

I saw this and was like WTF, I'm glad I got one for my son when I did. So, in the interest in making others go WTF, I'm leaving this thread here, intact. And if you edit the title, I will edit it back.
So I remember, "Squier Cyclone discontinued ... Already?!"

I don't think they're discontinued . Hell, I don't think Fender ever even got around to putting them on their site . Didn't they just start coming out before Christmas ? Perhaps they are an " online only " type of jazz ? To be honest I've never seen a new one in a shop yet . Just older ones . Whatever the case They're still available .
Why doesn't someone simply call Fender and get it straight from the horse's mouth ?

To clear up any confusion associated with not reading every poast on this thread, there is no evidence they are/will be discontinued, simply not listed on the Fender-Squier site, and certain colors may be backordered on certain sites.Rox wrote:I don't think they're discontinued ... Sweet, unintended WTFs. Messing with people > disseminating truth.Pens wrote:I saw this and was like WTF, I'm glad I got one for my son when I did. So, in the interest in making others go WTF, I'm leaving this thread here, intact. And if you edit the title, I will edit it back.
I'm glad you got an LPB for your son when you did, seems that is the most popular model in the online retail world.
