"cheap" and "gibson" is not something that usually adds up to mean "quality"

Idk man, have you tried the 60's tributes?
I loved the sg 60's trib.
I'd hop on one of those firebirds so quick.

The melody maker/budget models they released recently were absolute shite of the most ridiculous degree. They were like the shittiest Chinese guitars you'd get foisted on you as a beginner from disreputable shops. With Gibson on the headstock.

Yeah but the Tribute series have been really good, both 50s and 60s. I imagine these will be the same.

I dunno, every time I think my opinion of Gibson couldn't get any lower they bring out some new twistyfuck bollocks, whether it's the Digitlol Guitar, that fucking pus-wank Firebird, the "cheap" Melody Makers where they placed the volume and jack sockets RIGHT NEXT TO THE PLACE WHERE YOU STRUM TO SAVE MONEY ON HAVING TO BACK-ROUT THE GUITAR OR PERHAPS USE SEVERAL INCHES MORE PICKGUARD TO COVER UP A FRONTROUTED HOLE or claiming that they pretty have to keep using illegally sourced wood or lawyers would stop buying their guitars to go with their garage-bound Harleys and pre-distressed leather jackets.

Fuck Gibson.

But yeah, these look alright.

But fuck Gibson.

Goldtoppies at ZZZOUNDZ

So no classic mini-hum pole pieces, eh? Looks like a sudden abundance of Firebird pickups are immediately being put to use.

Everything Ek has said perfectly describes my opinion of Gibson and the lower end models. Granted, I haven't played any of these 50's 60's or 70's tributes though.

the finish on these look awful. that red is like a joke. looks like it's about to rub off entirely. on the back of that suburst one you can see the texture of the grain through the finish like there's not enough coats.

Satin black on the back of the goldtop and sunburst models? Ewwww. I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat otherwise. I love the 50s/60s tributes they've done.

I have regular HBs on an LP and Minis on an SG. The LP originally had minis and the SG had P90s. Should I swap?
