jumping amp channels

Post by lorez »

I'm curious to know what benefits there might be to jumping the channels on my bassman? Is there any issues I might experience?

Wot Mike said. I did this on my old 60's Selmer Treble N Bass. Good fun and widens the palate

Be aware that you can only do this on amps that have the 2 channels in phase with each other, if they are out of phase with each other(Twin Reverb, Super Reverb, etc.) it will sound like AZZ.

I think my 2 are in phase 71SB.

Another question, as the bassman 50 has a master volume will this affect things?

Yeah, the Bassman is in phase, thats just a bit of advice for those who might want to try it on their other fender amps.

The Silvertone 1482 sounds real nice when I jump the channels.
Currently this is the only amp in which I can do this trick.

I think my bassman sounds better just through the guitar channel, but each to their own.
