Fender Squier Classic Vibe Mustang , anyone know about it
I found out about these "Classic vibe mustangs, jaguars, and jazzmasters and I was wondering if anyone here knows when they are supposed to be released, I just found out about these today.
I only found a video of the mustangs, and that's actually what I want, perfect for me, I want all 3 colors, can't decide, here's a link to the video of the :
Fender Squier (FSR) "Factory Special Run", classic vibe Mustang Almost Vintage Correct
http://www.fender.jp/squier/gear/detail.php?pid=125
One thing I noticed is in the video demo
This photo below, the headstock looks different where the rosewood starts by the nut, the truss rod hole is different, the tuners are different, rounder and brighter. And the pickups are brighter on the white mustang in the first top image.
And the final thing I can notice that's different is the tremolo of the demo video mustangs, they have the "Fender logo" on the vibrato system, and The rest of the writing on it, "dynamic etc",
The ones in the video look very vintage correct and official, almost like an MIJ with a squier neck, much better than the first image they released of these

Yes
I actually just dished out 930 on eBay for a Olympic white CIJ and would have much rather paid somewhere in the 350 zone.
I used to have an original 60's mustang that I sold but regret it and recently bought that CIJ, I would still get another and this Squier would be perfect
This is me
But I could have gotten all three of these, and this thing looks just like mine, wonder how it sounds

yeah the picture at the top is not a japanese classic vibe mustang. there are no known classic vibe jaguars or jazzmasters. there are some leaked photos around the web of so far unreleased vintage modified mustangs (the picture at the top), jaguars and jazzmasters.
cogito ergo sum...thing or other...
This thread has all the info regarding the new Squier Vintage Modified Mustang, which will be released in the US this summer/fall: link
As others have said, the Squier FSR Mustang is a completely different guitar and is only available in Japan. At 55,000 JPY, seems a bit expensive to me as well. You can find used MIJ Mustangs for around the same price at Ishibashi.
Edit: 55,000 Yen = 692 US dollars (today's exchange). The Squier Mustangs released in the US are expected to be priced at $299. Could not possibly be the same guitar IMO.

I can see you guys know your stuff and what's out there but thus is really cool, the mustang hollow body just posted on YouTube

Flat top body and binding doesn't look right on a Mustang for me, the hollow Jaguar looks much sexier!Vintage mustangs wrote:I can see you guys know your stuff and what's out there but thus is really cool, the mustang hollow body just posted on YouTube
Sounds like the horrible racket you hear when walking into a guitar shop. Maybe he just popped in to buy something and they asked hIm to do an demozzMattsican wrote:no idea what they're saying, but their playing made me want to jam a screwdriver in my ear!

He's got that "looking at anything BUT the fretboard to seem effortlessly cool a guitar player, but jaw clenched and brow dripping with sweat from apparently extreme exertion as he butchers 5th chords" thing going on.
