H.S.Anderson Mad Cat Reissue!
Moderated By: mods
When I first looked at this guitar I threw up. Which was fine because I throw up often. But I'd just eaten a cheese and worcester sauce toastie, and when I looked at my sick it looked like that tortoiseshell, so I threw up again. To try and avoid throwing up from the sight of my own sick in my lap, all over my hands and dripping down on the floor I looked at my monitor, saw the picture that originally made me throw up and promptly threw up again. This went on for about an hour until I managed to scroll down to a picture of Prince which made me shit my pants.

That pattern is usually called "australian tortoiseshell"
GFS do "red australian tortoise"

On the amber side "tiger stripe" is somewhat similar as far as approaching the tackiness level.

I used to have a Moridaira acoustic. Run of the mill low-mid level MIJ dreadnought from the mid-70s. Probably on par with the lower end of the MIJ Yamaha stuff. Not an easy company to research, though.westtexasred wrote:It was made in Japan by Moridaira...
I love that. What is it?westtexasred wrote:► Show Spoiler

Leave Ekwatts' aforementioned WELSH!!!11 rarebit toastie in the oven a little too long (or mix some mozzarella into the cheddar, GASP!) and there's a chance you'll get a decent reissue guard.

I think the HS Anderson guitar looks great. the only cheesy thing is the flame maple top. otherwise it looks really cool. the mini guard around the bridge pickup is a much better shape on the new one; the old ones looked kinda meh.
and yeah totally do the tort like that on yr gold jag.

One of the later Hohner ones on ebay UK. IIRC I'm sure the earlier ones they made had more a of a tele style headstock.
