One popped up on the classifieds today for $200, and it's tempting me to make the hourlong drive, without AC, to check it out.

I've ran across a Alamo Futura once, 'twas a 1965 model with one speaker and unknown amount of wattage. Must've been "good enough" since someone had bought it before I got to try it out.

I spoke to the seller, and he says it's an early 70's all-tube model in perfect working condition. I think it's worth the hour drive to check it out, and if I don't like it, I'll drop by the ATM and put that cash back in my account.

So... it might not happen

I went to withdraw the cash at the ATM, and I didn't realize my bank had a $500/day withdrawal limit. I had withdrawn my rent money in the morning, so that put me over the limit when I tried to withdraw the cash for the amp. I texted the seller, and he told me he has another buyer interested, so if it's available tomorrow after work, we'll deal.. if not, someone beat me to it

We met, me negotiated, it's a bit dirty, but it sounds great. $180 out the door.

I was trying to remember where I had heard of Alamo amps, and it was that ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons used them.
