NGD Peavey T-26

Post by HNB »

I picked this up and really like it. I guess the story on it is it used to be red but was stripped to bare maple and then nitro coated lightly. It feels like a cutting board. I really like it. I hear it is Gibson scaled. Best of all it goes well with my Patriot. :D (My first electric I got at a pawn shop when I was in High School.)

The maple neck is a two piece. I haven't ever really seen that before. It is pretty cool actually. I had thought I would paint this, but the natural (maple?) body is pretty nice looking.

If it's anything like my old T15, it's got an Ash body.

Why is this in the Short Scales Thread and not in All other Guitars?

On topic, what do those pickups sound like?

I really like that Peavey headstock design out of all of their designs, the line around the edge improves the profile. I'd like to pick up a white T model one day.

How do you find the Patriot?
I've had a few USA Predators which were the predecessor of the Patriot, love the necks on them, most underrated guitar ever!

You might find THIS interesting dude. The black one is now sold but i'm going to change the blue one back to a standard Strat.

Yes you already stated they were Gibson scale, but the only Gibson scale length guitars that get put in the short scale thread are Toronados, everything else including Gibsons themselves seem to get posted in the all other guitar threads. Im not trying to be rude or anything I was just curious.

Whats the sustain like on this guitar?

don't drop it on the neck, or it may split right up the middle.

Da truth. Love me T15. It was infinitely better with a new neck, though. Those pickups sound really, really good.

Also, I didn't drop it on the neck, I dropped the neck when I was swapping necks.

Did i tell you about that time i snapped a Gibson headstock off just by staring at it?

Nah really, my Predator has gone through some abuse at the Punk gigs and its holding up fine.

LOL I will try to avoid dropping it on it's neck if possible.

The patriot is pretty nice. Feels similar to my strat but the neck is a bit thinner like a Japanese neck. The blade humbuckers actually sound really similar on the Patriot to a telecaster my friend has which makes no sense to me, but how it sounds I guess. These can be had for pretty cheap and seem to last well so I find very little to not like about them. The metal knobs are pretty cool too imho. :)

I didn't know that non-full scale guitars like this were not short enough to be listed here. I am sorry about that. I figured since it wasn't full scale or longer, that it would be ok here. If it needs to be moved, that is ok by me.

Sustain is great. It has an odd bridge. The Patriot is basically like a strat. This is not like any guitar "I" have played with. :D Pretty odd but it seems to work well.

Audio demo. Not sure why it was distorting on chords. Probably an iPad setting I need to tweak.

I picked up a $20 first neck and refinished it in tru-oil. It's a 25.5 inch and super chunky, much more my style.
