I gather Gretsch use banjo forearm protectors on their guitars but I can't find the specific type they use anywhere. Most regular banjo forearm protectors have a large tab that would attach to the body. I guess I could saw the tab off and drill two screw holes into the guard and mount it that way, but it's less than ideal. There's also the Vega-style but it doesn't suit the look I want as it's too small. Any ideas where to get a nice, smooth chrome forearm rest from with no tabs?

It's only theoretical at this point. I want it for another planned Gretsch purchase in a few months sos I can pimp it out like a white/black penguin but I might buy one anyway to see if it will fit the curve on my teardrop (which I promise I'll start working on again soon. Honest).

Well, I dropped it while the glue was drying after I'd stuck one bit to another to extend the headstock. At the time it didn't seem to have had any effect but then I started sanding it and noticed how off it was. PLUS I'd totally miscalculated my template and I hadn't planned tuner placement properly which meant it needed extra work doing to it. It isn't unsalvageable, but I might as well use an existing neck first before I try and rescue it.
But to remind me of my failure I've hung the neck in my room on the wall so I see it every day.
