KC Mustang switching? Tremelo?

I got this Mustang yesterday and I have a few questions. How does the phase switching work? Also The tremelo arm that can with it is kinda loose. Is that right? what do you use to keep it in place?

When both switches are in an on position, but on different sides of the off position, they're out of phase; on the same side of the off position, they're in phase.
Trem arm can be snugged up with the tension screw in the socket (I think).

There is a tension screw in the tube. As far as the switching goes on the KC Mustang, the HB switch is only on/off/on so you only have one out of phase setting rather than two.

I don't know if other people's KC Mustangs are the same way but the bridge pickup on mine went On-Off-On, and only the neck switched phase.

Could be something to do with the fact it's a bridge humbucker rather than single coil.

That shouldn't matter. It's a standard 4-conductor JB in there, if they wanted phasing, it should have been easy.

I got a couple of Allen keys with my KC, and there's a wee grub screw in the tremolo bit as someone already mentioned.
The best thing to do with the term arm is leave it in your case!

They're all standard mustang switches aren't they? Two on-off-on switches.Both on, and in the same direction is in phase. Opposite direction is out of phase?

No, on a normal Mustang, both switches are phase switching. On a KC Mustang, the bridge switch is not. It's annoying because then you have to remember which direction on the neck switch is in phase.

Later Jag-Stangs were like that (like mine from '98, not just the "reissue" run). They probably used the same wiring diagram for the KC Stang. Earlier Jag-Stangs were wired identically to Mustangs.

The bridge switch goes On-Off-On, and both On positions have the same phase. The neck pickup switch works like a normal Mustang, with On-Off-On, where the On positions are of opposite phase. So that means unlike on a Mustang, where out of phase is where the pickup switches are facing different directions, you have to remember, which direction on the neck switch is in phase w/ the bridge pickup. Annoying.
