Old trick, lower selling price with market value postage, eBay fee situation more preferable.

As for the price of the part, it's a vintage bit for vintage restoration. That is an original '50s CRL 3-way switch. Adding it to your otherwise-original first decade Esquire/Tele/Strat will make it seem 100% original, and worth $1000 more. The whole guitar could be worth $10,000. It's insane but very common. A 250k Stackpole audio pot (the brand Fender used briefly on the earliest broadcaster/nocaster/telecaster/esquire guitars, before switching to CTS) are worth a couple hundred just for one.

Even though Fender now use Oak-Grigsby switches for Strats and Teles instead of CRL switches (for guitars with proper blade switches, not the crap PCB ones), you can still buy new CRLs, with the spring and all. I have this exact switch made 50 years later.

Put a bid in and ask if it's okay to collect in person.

I tried doing that on an MIM strat that had a low BIN price. He listed 'free local pickup' but then when he saw someone local had won it, he refused to deliver it. He insisted I either pay the $175 shipping he quoted or pay a higher price. All this for a guitar that was 6 blocks away.

WTF, I hope you got out of that deal altogether. Shit sounds like something you could complain to eBay over?
