I think phil is right, the current VM jazz and jag are MSRP $499.99 and sell for $275. so these will probably be the same.

I hadn't seen them new for $275 before June, when Fender began their summer promotion and reduced the price by $25 (apparently to blow them out before the new ones arrive).

It's possible I've been shopping at the wrong places. But I would still wager ($25) that they'll be $299.99 at most major retailers upon initial release.

They're all up on Fender/Squier's site again with all of the available colors:

Jaguar

Jazzmaster

Mustang

I wonder what they're going to do with the current VM Jag and JM?

Why are most of the low E stings not on the saddles on the jazzmasters?

Sorely tempted by either a Red Mustang or the Green Jaguar.

I will POUNCE when they available in the UK.

White Jag.

Take the tort off and burn it. Replace with black. Black witchhats. Filtertrons. I know I've already said this but I'm saying it again. NEED.

How difficult/expensive would it be to add a mute to the VM Jag? I actually like the mute quite a lot, but am not sure I want to pay full freight on an AVRI for one...

You would have to convert it back to the original bridge to fit the Mute. Which would mean filling the TOM holes with dowel then re-drilling etc.

... and it's just not worth it. Fun, but easily replicated with your picking hand.

I've been out of the loop for a while so this is the first I've heard of these jags. I reeealy like the green one but ,sadly, I have £0 to spare so I'll just continue to reeealy like it for the moment.

I've got my eye on the Surf Green Jaguar and Sonic Blue Mustang.

The biggest downside to the Mustang that I can see isn't the slab body - I actually slightly prefer that. Rather, IMHO, it's the Jag / Jazz style saddles. IMO, Mustang saddles are much better, but the old ones and the MIJ Mustang saddles won't work with the Squier's 9.5" fingerboard radius.

I predict a run on blue Loctite world-wide. ;)
