Can I get some Feedback

Painting? Routing? Set-up tips? Or just straight-up making a guitar from scratch? Post here, and post pics!

Can I get some Feedback

Post by metalhead384 »

Going to be finishing 2 of my projects soon, a Hondo Les Paul project and a Jazz Bass Project, and I was wondering if I could get some feedback about the stuff Im choosing.

Les Paul Stuff

1) Gold Roller Bridge

2) Alnico Fat Pat Boutique Humbucker

Jazz Bass Stuff

1)Oversized Bridge
http://www.guitarfetish.com/Oversized-T ... p_578.html

2) Tortoise Shell Pickgaurd

I'd like some feedback to know if I'm getting the right stuff. Thanks

I'd definitely advise caution over the J-bass 'guard too. Getting a tort replacement for my MIM proved that US ones don't fit AT ALL and since it's a leftie I had one hell of a time finding one. I ended up paying an extortionate amount for a custom-made one in the end, and fortunately the end result was about right.

I still don't know if there's any online retailer who stocks MIM replacement guards that fit properly...it's impossible to tell until you try to fit it to your own instrument.

Thank goodness for Thurston Moore, he proved that not only do you not have to be any kind of technical wizard on your instrument, you can actually just pretend there's nobody else there/it's the millennium falcon/you're 5 years old.
