New UK company - Pedals n Pickups

Post by othomas2 »

A friend of mine just sent me an email with a link to his new business.... so thought I'd share it with you guys.

Good start me thinks, and some good prices too. It's a tough market at the moment... so feel free to give him a helping hand & buy from him in future is you so wish. He's a throughly nice chap and would be great to deal with I'm sure !!

Decent first bunch of stock he has, the Carl Martin effects are always good quality (though spendy) and he has the other side of things covered with the Joyos.

Looks good, will definitely add to bookmarks.

Front page has that Carl Martin Headroom reverb pedal with an actual spring in it. The one Guitarist magazine reviewed saying it was worth paying top whack for it because there was no other pedal out there that had these features. Except, uh, the Danelectro Spring King at least than half the price. Fuck you, Guitarist magazine.

I've read good things about the Headroom...TBH it's refreshing to see a retailer branching out from the usual Boss and EHX gear and stocking other brands, and across a wide price range too. It's not that those usual brands aren't good, but pretty much everyone sells them these days. If your buddy can keep this venture going he ought to have a nice little niche in the market.

I can vouch for the Toneriders though - I dropped a Pure Vintage set into my Squier strat a while back and was really impressed. Excellent pickups for the money.

It's a very likely (never officially confirmed or denied) that Toneriders are in the Classic Vibe Strats. All the specs and outputs match up. In which case they are superb. The alnico 3s in my 50s Strat are just excellent.

Also, I like the idea of being able to boot around a reverb pedal to make BOIOIOIOIOING noises, but it might get a tad annoying at the wrong moment.
