Nope. Completely reasonable if it's in good shape.

Well I noticed they have been going down in price so I was just wondering. I'm bidding on this, that's why. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-FENDER-SQU ... 6951wt_996

I had a Silver one get away from me that went for $225 because the misspelled the word "Squire"

$400 is a good deal.

I think I will build one before I ever buy one.

Bidding isn't over tho, so I'm thinking the final price might be more around 500-600$. Which is still reasonable...

Also, lol @ custom shop.

They have been averaging about $600 for the past few years. I bought my first for $299 in 1998, then another for $400 (both new), and I've bought three more since for $500, $500, and $350 (used / eBay).
The only one that got away that I wanted was a neck. I would love to build one around an original neck.
Silver and blue come up most often, then black. White seems to be the rarest.
A Whole Bunch of Guitars. Some with sparkles. Some with Pearl. Some with racing stripes.

I would try to get him to include the neck plate though.

I paid 495 Canadian dollars for mine back in April (from a store in Toronto). Black body with custom pearloid blue guard.

$400 is a steal nowdays. I am guessing that one will go over $500 with last minute snipping.

I am guessing the Blue Sparke is the one probably worth the most out of all the Super-Sonics. I have a Blue Sparkle, bought brand new in the late 90s that I wouldn't even sell for $1000. All stock too!

Well, look at that. Thanks. That guy has a body up, too. And the pickups.

$299 for a neck in that condition is a bit high, though.

And the Silver Sparkle one sold for $535.56.

i got my blue sparkle w/ a nice case for 400 a couple months ago. I saw a black one on craigslist a couple weeks ago for 250. a little beat up, but looked kinda cool actually. so you can still find deals. the prices go crazy on ebay.
