Set it up, oiled the fretboard and I've stuck with the stock strings for now, as I've got no rattles.

What a guitar, I think everyone else has covered it, but another glowing recommendation. There's a few rough patches, but for the price it's unreal. Believe the hype!

YES! Every bit of tort I look at I think "that's shite tort, that is," then I find out it's good tort, and I get confused. It's all shite. Fucking look at it.

Image

THE PICKGUARD IS SHIT
THE PAINT IS AWESOME
THE ROLLEYS ARE WAY TO FUCKING LOW, LIKE ALMOST UNDER THE PICKGUARD ON THE SONIC BLUE ONE
THE ROLLEYS ARE JUST RIGHT ON THE CAR ONE.
ITS PROBABLY A POUND LIGHTER THAN MY JAGUAR
STILL HEAVIER MANY OF THE OTHER GUITARS IN THE SHOP.
SO LIKE ITS NOT MADE OF FUCKING CARDBOARD!
TUNARZ ARE SWEET
TINT IS VINTAGE CORRECT TO 1999
I DIDN'T PLUG IT IN BECAUSE I DON'T EVER PLUG THESE THINGS IN.
THE LOW E STRING MADE THE BRIDGE RATTLE LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER ON THE SONIC BLUE ONE.
THE LOW E STRING DIDN'T MAKE THE BRIDGE RATTLE LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER ON THE CAR ONE.

All tort looks like somebody has shit on a piece of transparent perspex and squashed the shit between another sheet. Except if they did that the shit would presumably go a little bit transparent, allowing you to see things that aren't necessarily shit underneath the shit-perspex, whereas tort is opaque and all you can see is the shit. Thick layers of shit. On a guitar.

Very informative review, surprisingly. All of these guitars are tempting more day by day.

CAR JM is better than no JM to me. It's growing on me.

I hadn't noticed a dry fretboard on the Jag, and no sign of black spots. Mine might be a really good example, as it was supposedly picked up at the Corona plant in June by the owner of a supposedly legendary SF music shop? Dunno, I could just be noobily oblivious.

When I put 11's on the Jag and intonated, the saddles are sitting in almost a straight line, strangely. Freaked me out but sounds perfectly intonated. Tuner agrees.

Neck seems straight on mine, haven't fussed with the truss.

Perhaps I need to do a closer examination, but I'm so enjoying this guitar as is I can't be bothered. The JM is sadly being ignored for the most part. Liking the modern radius as well, was an easy adjustment for me.
