there are actually 5 different options on the mustang. bridge/neck/in phase/out phase/off
but the way I used to have my maple stang wired up was the back switch controlled the pickups, so it was: b/b+n/n and then the front switch was: volume & tone bypass/just tone bypass/no bypass. so you could have a few different setting and use them with a flick of the switch.
I've started to think about getting all the selection options in a more intuitive layout. One slider acts as a three-way pickup selector and the other selects in phase/out of phase/off.
I'm not sure how that would be wired in a real-life situation, but I'd personally find it to be easier to use.
My main Mustang has no slide switches. Instead, I have a push-pull for bridge only, and the a 3-way mini toggle gives me neck, neck-bridge, and neck-bridge series.

lol @ off being an option.

this is a popular mod on the mustang. let me do a quick search and see if I can find a post about it.

I like this idea a lot and was wondering if it's possible to have one slider do neck/neck+bridge in parallel/bridge and the other pickup selector provide in-phase/neck+bridge in series/out-of-phase?
If so, would anyone know where I could find such a wiring diagram? I'm hoping to do this on the Kurt Cobain Mustang.
