Finally a Jaguar again....

Post by gypsyseven »

So, after some months without a Jaguar(had a CP Jaguar) i realized that don´t work for me.
I need one, don´t know if it is the look, the feel, the tones i get....i just don´t know, so i ordered that lovely OW Squier VM Jaguar and will get it on monday.

Of course i´ll post some pics and report how it plays!

So now a happy weekend to all you,
nice to be back here!

Saw this video of the Jazzmaster. I kinda wish I wasn't building a Jazzmaster so I could get one of these.

I have one waiting for me when I return from my holiday on wednesday... full report from me then.

Can't believe how quiet the Mustang chat has been... especially as it's the first cheap mustang available ever !!!

I don't think they shipped out when the other two did. All of the stores here seem to have the Jag & JM in, but not the Mustang, at least right when these were released. I asked a local shop last week and they said they had no ETA for the Mustang but that it was on order.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, I envy all you motherfuckers that have them in stores near you. The only GC by me only has the Kurt Jag and Stang. I checked yesterday. It'll be a couple months before they get the Squiers here, but I left the place with a Way Huge Fat Sandwich for 65 dollars, so I was happy.

Strange, my shop ordered them all about a week or two after the ordering was available (which I thought was a little too late), and there were plenty in stock at the time. talking qty 40s 50s 60s still in stock, for all models / colours. I'm sure that's probably vanished now until the next shipment but those guitar must have ended somewhere, and they arrived at the same time as the jags/Jazzys. I mentioned this previously but seems odd that some of the lesser known shops got stock while the larger shops were still waiting. One offsetter got his mustang really early.

Can't wait to get mine on Wednesday, I'll probably buy the other two models as well, if it's as good as I'm expecting.

I would if I had the money to do so right now. I like to play with them before I decide to buy now.

A week ago, Laterallateral and I visited the two main stores here in Montreal and they still hadn't received any. I'm not sure if the clerks were telling the truth, but I've heard from a few stores that they currently aren't selling enough guitars (especially Mustangs) to justify restocking. I think Archambault has had the same candy apple Mustang for over a year now, hidden in a corner behind a shelf, and Steves has been trying to sell the same baby blue Mustang for years, sending it store to store in its branch in hope of finding a buyer.

So I'm not sure if we'll see a lot of Squier Mustangs in store. Not here anyway. Hopefully, they'll still order a few Squier Jaguars :)

Nothing in Cardiff so far. One of the larger stores claimed they won't be getting any Fender/Squier stock in for a month.

Yea but you have to put a down payment on it just for them to order it in store. I just want to try them out...

My update: Local Fender dealer won't be carrying these, and American Musical just canceled an order I tried placing yesterday because they are contractually not allowed to ship them to PR :(

Unless I have a trip stateside soon, or a used one pops up on Music 123's ebay site, it's gonna be a while before I get my hands on one... grrr

New Fender products are in those restricted items :( Used is ok, as it purchasing it and having it shipped elsewhere. Tropical Music has exclusivity as the Fender distributor for all of PR (and they seriously fucking suck). I might need to go to Miami in a month or so, so when I have my date set in stone, I'll have one delivered to me there.

OK, so the Jaguar got it's first outing with the band last night - was loads of fun and it sounded and played great. In fact it's on the latest track we recorded for our Epic new record.

I did manage to work the low E and A grub screws loose (once each) during the 3 hours of smacking the thing about (which is a bit annoying), so I think I'm on the hunt for some loctite to see if that can tighten things up.

How does these feel quality wise? Do they feel cheap compared to other Fenders?

Going to play and hopefully pick up a OW Jag on Friday. Anyone on here have a Jag and JMJM. I want to know how the necks compare regarding width and girth (oo er)

Very excited
