I think my problem with Warmoth is just that I find partscasters (when it comes to necks/bodies) to go kind of against my thoughts on buying a guitar. I like to look at a guitar as the sum of its parts, if for no other reason than it's just simpler to do it that way. I'm well aware that Fender does things the same way, just slap a neck on a body and call it done, but at least when you buy a guitar in a shop you can usually compare it with several others.
Two reasons I would do Warmoth
1. There aren't many guitars on the shelf in stores where you live, and you can't find "the one"
2. You want something very specific with different woods, color, fretwire, routing, etc than Fender offers.
Almost always building a complete Warmoth guitar (including finish and wiring) will cost as much if not more than an American Fender, and not have the resale value.
