Srsly, nice board. I've got the Enhancer too, and find it pairs well with very fuzzy fuzzes like muffs to make them utterly abrasive. Wouldn't mind trying a Dimension-C at some point too.

Yeah, well the old ones. (I know theres a NS-2, TU-2 and FRV-1 that makes a mockery that statement)
I think like a lot of people, Boss was the door into the pedal world. It's not until afterwards you realise there might be something different, possibly better out there.
But example, I love my DD-2 and DM-2. I really like the look/sound of a Strymon El Capistan. An El Capistan would have to replace these two, with a favourite switch. I then loose the option to have them both on. And to go to all the hassle of punting them, buying that, messing around with it. I just can't see it would be that much better. Therefore, I stuck with the old Boss boxes.

On another note, I am massively impressed with timhulio's (Fredric Effects) Klone. Good size, great sound. So what ridiculously oversized great sounding vintage pedal you gonna miniature next?

Oh, and @ timhulio - The DC-2 is awesome if you can get it at the right price. I got a 'deal' on my one. Still had to pay quite a more $$$.

Damn right. Its funny how you go back to them every so often too.
We had a bit of a nostalgic Boss discussion a few months ago, they are seen as a bit meh these days and whilst they are not as whacky as some brands they were the beginning of excessive experimentation and contributed to many great sounds.

Ah, OK, there's one I spotted on clearance sitting in my son's cupboard atm but I don't think it's ever been used in anger. Can't remember whether it's a -1 or a -2. I should YouTube harder, I guess there's a demo out there somewhere.

I didn't think this was worth making a new thread for but I got a Musikding kit as a present a few weeks ago and finally got round to finishing it:

It's a Silicon fuzz face, the sticker is from a wall-painting a Pompeii for extra Gilmour mojo. I really enjoyed building it and it sounds awesome, might mess with the trimpot on the inside a bit more but i'm pretty happy with how I got it to sound on the first setting.

Next up, maybe a Vibrato pedal, but I think I might have to buy some veroboard for that.

There is only an EH-2. Demo's of this pedal wouldn't really show you what it does. Best advice I can give is hook it up, jam for 20 mins with it on, then turn it off. That's when you'll see what it does. Anyone else got anything to add to that?

Some of the old boss effects are great. You'll struggle to find a better analogue delay than the DM-2, better digital than the DD-2, and better chorus' than the DC-2 and CE-2. I also love the super squishyness of the CS-1. The old Japanese DS-1 is probably my favourite pedal ever. If I could only have 1 effect, it would be a MIJ DS-1.

I'd agree with that. It's not always immediately apparent what it's doing until you turn it off and then notice what's "missing". Not sure any youtube demos ever get across what it does particularly well.

The Fuzz Factory I built the other day. I'm loving it. It's a lot more usable than I was expecting. I was under the impression that they are glitchy and not much use outside of squeally sounds, but there's loads of nice fuzz tones and a few usable overdrive sounds too.
