NBD - 1982 Peavey T-40
Picked up this tank of a bass today. One of the switches is a little faulty, and the frets were GREEN with oxidization and rust (don't work already fixed em with steel wood and sanding). Got a cool pink vintage strap and OHSC. Hard to get the action low and truss rod needs some sort of special tool to adjust
Oldsmobile Toronado. It has no meaning, it just sounds exotic.HNB wrote:LOL I was thinking the same thing. It needs to be Toronados though. People need to buy Toronados. By the way, wtf is up with the Toronado name? Not Tornado... Off topic, sorry. LOL is it like Gibson spelling Epiphony wrong for Epiphone?

How's the coil split on these guys? Actually give a single-coil tone??

I've just played it through a practice amp, but I would say it does. 7-10 on the tone is single coil, it sounds pretty fenderish. I like a muddier bass tone myself.Ankhanu wrote:How's the coil split on these guys? Actually give a single-coil tone??
Also the pickguard screws arent all missing, I just dont want to put them back on as they are like 1/2" long and take forever to screw in. Just need to order a replacement switch and adjust truss rod now.

I'm calling him "Fritz."
Peavey annoyingly made it so only their tool can adjust the truss rod. (Gibson type, but the walls of wood surrounding it make it so you need a really thin socketed tool), so I had to order one as it is a bit bowed. The phase switch is also fucked.
This thing sounds great with a fuzz, let me tell you. My bands bassist played it today and loved it. The neck is nice and wide like a singray, and not too thin like some of the t-series. I think the neck on the T-15 guitar is wayyy to thin. I want a matching T-60 for this bass.. hmm.
