So, I've got a Kustom Defender 5H, with a matching Kustom Cab. Well, Musicians Friend has the cabs today for $60, so I bought another one.
The cabs are 16 ohm each, and the head has 4, 8, and 16 ohm outputs. Could I connect the two cabs through one of the outputs using a Y-cable? Thanks

Awesome. make sure you a Y cord made out of speaker cable, though.

Thanks for that. I ordered a y-splitter made of speaker cable, and I already have a handful of speaker cables around the house.

Did it with a Weber Parallel Y cable through the 8 ohm jack. Sounds great, and it added a bit more headroom which it desperately needed.

I'm assuming the only way to do this with two 8ohm cabs is with a 4ohm out? The Tiny Terror only has 8 or 16...
I have a 1x12 and a 1x15 and always wondered how the two would sound together.

2 16-ohm cabs through the parallel-y speaker cable = 8 ohm.

Run them in series? 2 8 ohm in series should = 16 ohms.

This may be a noob question, but how does one run two cabs in series?

a Y cable runs in parallel by sending both + and - to both cabs. to run in series you need the + to go to one cab, the - of that cab jumped to the + of the next cab and then the - from that cab connected to the - from the amp. you'd need a pretty special cable to do that.

So, in short, I should not attempt this?

How are your soldering skills?
Basically, you want to solder a triangle with a jack plug at each point. Tip of A to tip of B, ring of B to tip of C, ring of C to ring of A

yes, you could rewire a parallel type Y cable to be a series. here I made a picture

Its a fiddle. I used to mess around with it when I was in my last band. It works really well, but I have terrible, terrible soldering skills, so get a bit of practise in first.
Not that its terribly related, but I ended up using a crossover for what I wanted to do with my 2x12 and wide body 1x15, as I needed to pump bass for some bits. Check it Freddy
