NGD - Venus XII

Post by BearBoy »

This turned up today

Image

Been keeping my eyes open for one of these for absolutely ages but they hardly ever seem to come up for sale over here. The knobs have been changed so I might try and put them back to stock - should they just be white Strat knobs? There are few minor dents here and there but nothing major and it feels and plays great.

I am so jealous. It's the only cool 12 string electric from Fender you can actually afford unlike the Fender XII. Some Bronco knobs would look fantastic on that.

The only thing better would be a Seafoam green one.

NO. Fender skirted amp knobs. Accept no substitutes.

I've never understood why Fender don't make any 12 string electric models. Appreciate they won't necessarily be huge sellers but I would have thought there must be some sort of market for them.

If it was a 6 string Venus I would agree with you. For some reason I prefer the XII in black.

You can get strat 12 strings. Hardly inspiring but utilitarian.

Pretty good deal too. They weren't cheap back in the day, and IIRC Courtney never played the 12-string model, so there's a plus :D

I always liked this guitar because it uses the same bridge and setup of the Fender XII, but without having to sell your car to get it.

Nice guitar.

I'd go with white (or off-white/cream) mustang knobs. Just buy them from a pedal parts store rather than a guitar store unless you're happy to pay way over the odds, though shipping is a consideration.

Here's a pic of one on my Hello Kitty Strat.

Cheers. I was going to have them straight off and try to return it to more of a stock look but they've grown on me and I'm going to leave them be for now.

Wow! Don't really care for the six-string model but this looks amazing. Nice one.
