thanks! The one thing that bugs me is the lack of logos on both of them. I'll be picking up a NOS decal for the hagstrom shortly, but finding a Ibanez ric truss rod cover would be a rather difficult task.Nick wrote:Man that is a BEAUTIFUL collection. Love the look of that Ibanez bass and Hag II next to each other.

The old Arias with the active boosts and stuff were the "TS" models. A few of them have shown up on ebay recently from Japanese sellers. One day I'll have the cash for one.

Yeah the boost circuit in em sounds great. A mate has a Westone Thunder III with this active boost/eq. The guitar itself is really nice too.
I've got a couple of 'new' guitars. I've owned the '73 Hagstrom Swede for almost a couple of years now, but only had it in my possession for a few weeks of that as it was off having the neck binding redone (by a luthier friend as a freebie, so I'm not fussed at the timescale). A detail shot follows. His site is Setchell Guitars, but it's not updated much at the moment. This Danelectro DC-3 (from the superior and less morally reprehensible 90s reissues) is a replacement for exactly the same guitar I had owned until a couple of years ago and missed somewhat. It was a bargain on ebay on account of the seller living in the middle of nowhere and wanting the buyer to collect.

my other old Hag… (c.1964) Hagstrom II
(the refinish, custom pickguard, DiMarzio humbuckers and mini toggle switch were modifications made by the previous owner).
I had to replace the tuners, removed one of the humbuckers and replaced it with a Gibson P-94 pickup… maybe one day it will be restored.

I'm not sure where he got it cut... I imported it into the U.K. from Kentucky, USA if that is any help.
If you have no luck finding a pickguard with ebay, there is a good vintage shop in Sweden that you could email to get a quote for spares...
