You enjoy playing the jag more then the jm? I'm thinking in a year or so I'll consolidate some guitars into a vintage jm or jag. At the moment I have two squires to help me make my mind up.othomas2 wrote:Thanks, it is vintage, '61 all original... except for one tuner lol.
The frets are quite low now, but I don't think I can bring myself to get that sorted. I kinda like as it is as well.
I used to gig with it when I was younger but I no longer will.
My Jag is my favourite player, love it !!!!!
Yes I do. For me I find much enjoyment from tinkering with guitars, modifying them and seeing if I can set it up closer to my tastes... and not having to baby them is a plus.
I would however sell the Jag before the Jazzy as it's easily replaceable... but the go to is always the best in reality. The scale / the pickups of the Jag just work for me.
If you find yourself someone to swap out pickups / bridges etc then I wouldn't go Vintage unless it has been modified already.
The Squiers are great... you can get several several of those for the price of a Vintage Jag or Jm.

Sexy Pair, just did a pickup swap & setup for Noirie... that's the one on top. FWarrrrrrr....
They're both CIJ but the neck on his feels quite a bit slimmer and nicely shaped, and the rosewood is darker too. And it seems his body has gone creamier despite mine being 2-3 years older. Strange too... the pickguard I sold to Noirie used to belong on mine haha...it was pleasure to work on.

I got that in a trade with another shortscaler. It has a stock neck pickup and a Lace Sensor Red in the bridge. It's my only guitar currently strung with .12s. I want to add another Lace Sensor (Emerald) in the neck to match the bridge pup. My only dislike is the nut width, which is smaller than my other 24" scale guitars. It also has the slimmest neck profile which combined with .12s makes it a little harder to play since I have larger hands. I might put .11s on it after the pickup swap. I might swap the neck one day if I find another more like the others, but the current neck is nice and stays in tune great.
