Traynordome: YSR-1 or YBA-1?

Post by mastermorya »

Both are 45 watts. YSR has reverb and tremolo. I'm not super familiar with these amps. I've played the YSR-1 and it is wonderful, though hugely overpriced by the shop selling it ($599 for the head). There's a YBA-1 head for sale for $350 on cragislist. I think I can talk the YSR-1 down to $500, though I'd not want to pay more than $400.

If you can live without the trem, the reverb and you're looking for a sick bass loving amp then go for the YBA. Haggling with a shop that has overpriced the amp is probably butts.

Got them down to $464 on the YSR-1.

This is tough. The YSR-1 sounded damn good but I have drive like 45 miles to try out the YBA-1, which has been sitting in someone's closet for years and it hasn't been checked out by anybody ever it sounds like.
