Did they change something with the 2012 batch? The mint green pickguard doesnt look as minty, and the headstock looks paler (in some photos anyway). And what is a fastback? I'd rather have one of the 2011's. Also on MF, the new ones are $50 cheaper. 'SUP WIT DAT??

They moved the truss rod to the headstock with a skunk stripe and added the sunburst color was added.
Sounds like in 10 years someone will be saying how much better the MIJs were than the MIMs, and I should snap one up while it's on clearance. But I was thinkng of the MP Marauder...

These are regular sized buckers with a WRHB-style cover on them... I've read that they're the Enforcer buckers (previously used in certain Toronados/American Deluxe fat Strats and a bunch of other Fenders), probably because a real WRHB wouldn't fit neatly on a Mustang due to the switches and how far down the cutaway comes to the treble side of the neck pickup.

maybe they wanted to name it mustang fastback but ford bitched.
in all of fenders advertising it relates the mustang to the actual horse and never the car. calling the thing a fastback would relate it to a car too much?
