What the fuck fuse do I use?

For my Peavey Deuce (hybrid form the late 70's early 80's)?
I went to three different stores and they gave me Four different fuses, all of which blew immediately. The fuse that was in there since I've owned it says 5 amps (5A), which agrees with the labeling on the back of the amp. However, it doesn't say anything about voltage (i'm assuming it's 125).
Also, the lady at home depot did a bit of googling and said that people online were saying they use a 13 amp fuse?
I really don't understand electronics, so I'm at a loss as to what the hell to get, but everyone who's job it is to know seems at a loss too.

You'll want SLO-BLO fuses. They look like a little spring inside the fuse as opposed to a tiny little metal thread.

Yep, and voltage doesn't really matter much, amps does.

ah, ok, I'll try one of those. One of the ones I tried was slo blow, but I can try another (they're so cheap). But the one that was in it to begin with was fast (thin filament)

the fact that the fuses keep blowing suggests there's a fault. i wouldn't put a 13amp fuse in there, personally. could be a potential fire risk.

^ That's exactly what I was thinking. Crack it open and check for a short (or take it to someone to do it for you) If the fuse is up to spec and it's continuously blowing as soon as you put it in you've got some other issue going on. It sounds like something fried and took the fuse with it.

Note: I am not very knowledgeable in these things, this just seems logical.
