Mithril will help keep the weight of the guitar down somewhat, it'll also increase note dexterity and reduce meedley note failure by 10%.

I think the mass of the block has more to do with it than anything else. I've had dodgy old trems that sounded great because they had a really fat trem block made from pot metal.

There's got to be some bonus points for the first person to photoshop a tremblock into this picture.

Haven't tried brass, but upgraded with bigger fatter steel blocks and this definitely is an improvement over that crappy ?zinc/pot metal that the Asians use. I imagine that brass is more "musical", but have often wondered if it's benefits would be affected as it tarnished. Any horn players care to chime in?
