that seller was on here before responding to a similar thread to this that timhulio posted a little while ago (which now seems to be deleted?). don't really know anything about the guy but his aggressive tone on this and other forums set me ill at ease. and how convenient that a mystery buyer bought the pedal ending the thread and price discussion in his favor. ¬_¬

A pedal is not a guitar.
There are incredibly few bits of signal processing gear I'd pay that much for in this day and age as a RECORDING ENTHUSIAST let alone guitar player (surely less than 5 examples in the history of recording) and most of the ones I would are vintage rackmount recording gear like the UA LA-2A limiter or a Fairchild/Altec amp.
I'd hesitate to suggest that someone who spends that much on a pedal to run through a guitar amplifier knows Dick One about audio.
