Saw this and was inspired to post a similar thread. No musician would spent that much on a pedal. It's for blues lawyers

You could get a fucking vintage jaguar for that much! Fuck me

I am with ya. No way I would spend $2,000 on a pedal unless it was used on a famous album I loved or something. (the one on the album, not just the same type)

that seller was on here before responding to a similar thread to this that timhulio posted a little while ago (which now seems to be deleted?). don't really know anything about the guy but his aggressive tone on this and other forums set me ill at ease. and how convenient that a mystery buyer bought the pedal ending the thread and price discussion in his favor. ¬_¬

It's a matter of fact that demand determines the going rate for hard-to-come-by items.

Why is a vintage Jag not available for a couple of hundred quid any more? That's what they cost in the mid-'80s. You're not telling me inflation's that bad.

A pedal is not a guitar.

There are incredibly few bits of signal processing gear I'd pay that much for in this day and age as a RECORDING ENTHUSIAST let alone guitar player (surely less than 5 examples in the history of recording) and most of the ones I would are vintage rackmount recording gear like the UA LA-2A limiter or a Fairchild/Altec amp.

I'd hesitate to suggest that someone who spends that much on a pedal to run through a guitar amplifier knows Dick One about audio.

There's no point in getting wound up about what people spend for D*A*M pedals and the like.

Just ignore their hyperbolic mewling and get on with your life, it's simpler.
