Jesus fuck. For Eight years I get torn a new asshole for insisting that a 25.5" guitar can be tuned baritoney. Then I buy a baritone, which I like very much, and "public opinion" flips on me.

ehh, if you like the guitar, then everyone else can shove it. Also, when asked, everyone quickly jumped to the fact the fact that you had done it, so really, you're probably the one that changed 'the public opinion'.

One "actual longscale baritone"
One Warmoth conversion job. (probably about time to flip it)
My former 25.5" baritone is now doing open G duty for my pink floyd set on Halloween.

I usually play 11, so I like tighter heavier strings and this guitar won't be for playing traditional doom metal or anything like that, I just like the range of the baritonez.
I really don't think you need to up the gauges on the higher strings all that much at all. I'm tuned A-A and still using an 11 and 16 for the top two strings with no problems. Depends on the way you like it, of course, but don't go throwing superheavymash strings all over the guitar if you don't need to. However, I would recommend going with a wound G, possibly a 22 or 24. Only go for the heavy gauges near the low strings.
