NAD: Fender 5E3 Deluxe Clone

Post by Ben79 »

Been playing this all morning. Off ebay for 120 boys. Listed as spares or repairs but works fine. Has a switchable post phase inverter master volume so you can drive the preamp at low volume. Sounds great - sweet cleans and lots of dynamics and a juicy, fuzzy overdrive. A lot of treble on tap and a lot louder than I was expecting. I'm running it through the Vintage 30 in that Marshall at the moment but have a couple of Jensen p10r alnicos which I'm building into a cab - might be too bright but I guess the tone circuit in the amp can be easily modified or I'll try something else (in which case a 2x10 will be appearing soon in the classifieds). Output transformer is out of a Deluxe Reverb.

Looks tidy, was it made by the seller themselves?

Wow he probably sold that with a 300$ plus loss. Nice find!

Love the hofner, too. One of those necks is on my local craigslist.

Recommend the neck, feels great to me. Pretty thin.
