Thanks! It is coming along pretty well. It is much darker than normal walnut stain, but I am ok with that. I like the deep brown. :) Here are some pics. I did my first coat of Z Poxy on the back. :) Coming along!

Oh, here is the modified template I made for my pickguard. It is basically a Mustang guard with a steeper curve at the lower horn to match the Jag-Stang shape a bit better.

No pictures yet, but I just got pickups on the way for this from Cooter. A mini humbucker for the neck and a strat single coil for the bridge.

So happy accident/odd event happened as I sanded the Z Poxy flat. The Z Poxy caused the grain to rise. This caused some of the stain to sand off as I leveld the body creating a sort of zebra look to the guitar. At first I was a little pissed when it was one spot, but as I finished the front and back, I kind of dig it. Much more dramatic.

When damp, the contrast is more subtile so I am expecting it will not be as stark when clear coated.

Pickups came from cooter. Neck mini humbucker and single coil bridge ala Pat's crackwhore jagup.

First coat of clear. I am very pleased with how the color is looking. Many more coats to go on over the week, but it should be set to start drying next week. :)

Going to look great, that's for sure. Post how it sounds when finished, interested in hearing the mini humbucker.

Definately. :) I am curious too. I haven't ever used a mini humbucker before. :)

Just did the fourth coat tonight. Should be able to do two tomorrow and Sunday. I am thinking I will be done with clear around Wednesday or Thursday and then it will be dry time.

That is definitely the coolest stain finish I've seen!
