It was a success if it sounds good and plays well but it's still ugly. It's not any better than the original jagstang. And personally, I hate the necks on jagstangs. I want a baseball bat neck like the broncos. I can certainly understand the goods about it. The neck, if you dig it, and slanted humbucker bridge but it's still one of the ugliest guitars ever mass produced. Right up there with the Gibson Modern, or whatever the hell it was called.

No. Correction, the new Gibson Firebird X or whatever it is called is the most ugly looking guitar ever produced. Haha. ;)

I think its ugly to. I know he liked his jaguar and mustangs. But its no reason to combinate these two. Its like if a strat and and tele player would sign a telestrat.

But i have to say the jag-stang have a beautiful neck and really plays awesome. After the pickup switch it really get a amazing sound. Try with a sd pearly gates and keep the original neck pickup.

Fender have designed/released several and a lot of people do them homebrew as well. I think that's probably the most obvious Fender hybrid design you could do.

This is what happens when you combine two guitars equally with none of the charm of either:

Those first two telestrats actually kind of work for me. The third one is pretty hideous.

But it's still nothing compared to what happens when a tele does it with a flying V:

Yeah, they did a run of 100 CAR ones a few years back, John Mayer was photographed with an LPB one a bunch of times.

Could not agree more. I like pointy guitars but this is just awful.

Considering Cobain, you may as well have a hard tail Jag shape guitar with one DiM humbucker, maybe lose the tone pot as well. He was like a hick cousin of EVH that used minimal onboard controls on guitars, but ironically used guitars that maybe have excessive onboard controls.

I wonder how he would of liked a shortscale toronado with that bridge and dm sd in the bridge.

The Toronado GT would have suited Cobain, in stock form probably better than any guitar he actually used. Unless he loved his vintage radius or some other shit, which i doubt.

Jag-Stang: was a prototype. Was not finished when he died. KC wasn't psyched on it. He clearly wanted it different. He probably wanted a hardtail (although he says something like "whatever bridge works best" on his drawing - being deferential). He probably wanted comfort cuts. The Jag Stang could have turned out radically different with a few more prototypes. A hardtail one HB guitar? no switches? At least a Tune-a-matic.

He might have liked the Pawn Shop mustang, eh? Hardtailed with humbuckers?

All that being said, I think they look cool upside down. And the necks are comfortable. No more comfortable than Mustang necks, but comfortable.
A Whole Bunch of Guitars. Some with sparkles. Some with Pearl. Some with racing stripes.
