I've almost bought one of those so many fucking times, haha. They're like the last vintage Fender shop score you can come across, the basses too.
Congrats!

HNB wrote:Thanks! That is what I was thinking. Good to grab one while prices are still pretty low. Like Jags and Jazzys used to be....
There are two Musicmasters on CL right now for $400. I even saw an original 1966 Mustang for $850. This is definitely a buyers market as people need cash are will to sell their toys.
I picked up a 1967 Fender Coronado II for $800! That's ridiculously cheap. If you can pick up some deals now, they will eventually appreciate if you need to sell them later.

Not sure it will be....I think the earlier ones were, but they were definitely not by 77/78, which is when mine dates from (just routed for one when I checked mine). See how you get on, but if it's 100% stock, you'd do well to get some compensated saddles on order. It'll intonate much better than with the stock ones. This is a waaay more important mod than bronco knobs imho

put bronco knobs and traded to aen for custom padel and CV tele custom. then that was smashed into bits.
Sold by Aen to ME. Lives in Tasmania now and is much loved.
Thinking I will probably hold on to this one. Won't know until it arrives and I see it in person. I will keep it stock most likely. I MIGHT get a tort guard made for it, but nothing that is not reversible. I will even keep the stock strap buttons. Means I need to pick up some Grolsch bottles for this baby.
Awesome man. I love the 76 - 78's That's how mine was stock. gave it a mustang guard and jb though cus the original guard was destroyed and someone already routed for a humbucker. :/
Congratulations! Your Punkacc9 evolved into Awstin.

Tort would be awesome, but I like the stealth look too.
I have the stealth Jag-Stang and I am itching to get some of the newer nitro tort done with parchment instead of mint. It makes it much brighter. I am getting one made for my stained Jag-Stang so it would be good to get them together.
i have a 78 MM and i love it! definitely prefer the clean sounds though. anyone got any tips for getting good distorted tones from this one?
to my ears it has a tendency towards muddiness when distorted, so i've been thinking of making a treble boost pedal from one of the musikding kits. not sure how helpful that'd be, but i'm sure it will be fun. plenty of other stuff ahead in the to-do queue sadly...
