Thoughts on the Marshall JVM 215C?

Post by willlin »

I spotted a Marshall JVM 215C earlier today in Southampton for £450. A quick google / eBay search suggests this might not be a bad price. Anybody have any experience of the JVM range or have any thoughts on the matter?

Used to have a JVM410H and I thought it was superb. Never played a more versatile amp and the crunch and OD1 channels were glorious. If I were to get another I'd get the 200 range as I never used the 4 channels on the 410.
Mike, dots and Mickie all had one too iirc.

Never played a 2 series but I had a JVM410H that was a very good amp. However I did end up selling it and going back to my 6100.

How well do these take pedals?

Well, I used to use loads of pedals with mine - just no drive pedals - no point with 4 channels and 3 modes per channel!

I can't really remember I'm afraid, but I think teh clean channel was pretty lovely so I'm sure it would be fine.

By way of a quick update, I bought this last week. I entirely agree with everything above. Lovely lovely cleans to be had, hugely versatile even with just two channels and the editable footswitch is a cracking idea. It couldn't be any more different to my Musicmaster.

That said it is a weighty bastard for a 1x12" combo...

Sweet. Agree the footswitch is a great design.
