Is this a good price?
I really like the maple mustang necks and saw this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-1977-Fende ... 19d5c349b4 Is this a good price for it and its condition? If not what should I make an offer at?

Fretboard wear looks pretty bad, and that'll likely affect playing and feel I reckon. It looks like it'll Flake again soon.
I would consider that price here but not where you are. I would say 2/3 of what he's asking. $150 would be great I think.
Like most things this age, it's worth what someone is willing to pay within reason. Add and bit more and you could probably get a complete 70s stang... spare parts like this are always over-inflated.

what everyone else said is true but maple mustang necks are fairly uncommon, allowing a seller to ask a bit more since the likelihood of you finding another one is slim. $150 would be a normal price for your standard rosewood mustang neck. he's open to offers though, so you could knock off 25 or 50 dollars of his initial offer and see what he says.
cogito ergo sum...thing or other...
I played a classic vibe tele with the gloss maple board and it was alright. Any yeah it looks kinda bad but maybe it will flake nicely. That is just the clear coat and not the fretboard. And wow really? Why are these so cheep? Was CBS really that bad? I like a lot of the 70's mustangs. I love the walnut one.

those necks feel fine. Super glossy BUT if you have to get one refretted expect a giant pain in the ass or a $300 price tag because you're going to have to strip the whole thing to get the frets out.
that's what sucks about those vintage 70s maple necks; they're usually pretty worn and it's almost not worth it to get refretted.
