I think what makes it work is portions of the decal are transparent, which makes it appear to painted on and the strawberry matches the color of the paint. Looks like vintage floral wallpaper.

I will take it off one day and there will be a awesome faded angel outline, that'd be much cooler.

Some people pull it off well, plenty of famous players have. I'm a bit whatever about it too, I see it as a cheap way of decorating or personalizing your guitar, is it really that much different to creaming your pants over a certain colour or changing pup covers, scratchplates, fitting Witch Hats, relicing..? I'm not so sure it is.

When I bought my first Strat I covered it with stickers on the back and lower edge to protect it from scratches It was not pretty.

but it was where I was at then. I haven't added stickers to any other guitars.

I had a minor surface chip on my favorite guitar so I ruined it further by putting a Hello Kitty sticker on it. I think it was a good way to turn what was a blemish into a bit of personality on my part.

I also have Hello Kitty stickers on just about all of my headstocks, except the actual Hello Kitty guitars, because they don't really need them.

I dont get what you are saying. If you "ruined" one guitar with a sticker why would you have them on most of your guitars?
Also, why did you cover the blemish? Do you have OCD problems? I'm not being a twat, just intrigued with your process of thought :?

I didn't really ruin it in my mind, but I figured most dudes think putting a Hello Kitty sticker on things ruins stuff. As for why I covered the blemish, yes, I have OCD problems. Many musicians do, I think.

As for my other guitars, I don't have the big HK sticker but I have little clear Hello Kitty decals on headstocks. I really like the way they sit on CBS headstocks.

I think they're cute and look like they belong there.
