Patch Cables

Post by Gabriel »

I just ordered a couple of patch cables from johnnyshredfreak. They are now selling patch cables made with van damme cable and either Neutrik or pancake jacks for £3.60 for 15cm patch cables.

Those REAN Neutriks look quite similar to the ones on the Stagg patch leads.

Ah, well I have some pancake jack patch leads on their way. So I'll post my opinion of them when they come, I might at some point just make my own, but until then I'm happy paying a bit more to be lazy.

I just got one patch cable through - they're low on stock so the others will come on friday. On first impressions it looks like nice quality, the low profile jacks are pretty solid and it is proper Van Damme cable.

Do patch cables really make that much of a difference? I've been using the same shitty radioshack ones for years, but I have my pedals run through a bypass loop, so I never notice it.

I've been using the terrible £1 maplin ones for years with only one of them breaking. But now I'm not using a pedal board (only using two pedals so there isn't much point), I thought I'd go with something a little tougher.

Also I don't think they sell the diago supply anymore - diago themselves sell a different one too now.

Looks like they stopped doing them, maybe because of complaints. We got one for Matt last Christmas and the noise it introduced was cack (someone here sent theirs back), maybe they changed suppliers. Matt now uses the daisychain with one of my old Mascot linear PSUs, the JSF PSU is in the cupboard.
