NGD: 73 Telecaster

I haven't posted anything interesting in a while. That's about to change. I have a few that are just hours away from being finished.

Some of you will not like this, since it is the lowest common denominator color and model. But holy shit this thing plays well. I will have to get some better shots of the headstock so you can see all the finish cracking!

Awesome. I have the notion you have amazing vintage guitars but you never post a group picture

The guitar was bare on Friday and fully painted and assembled by Sunday. I was not about to let it cure for six weeks. Not this time.

Only the body, neck, plate, and screws came with it. I pieced the rest together with period parts. The bridge is NOS 70s upgrade. Two of the tuners are longer than the others. I have done this kind of fix many times, but rarely does it seem so fated. Shit just flew together.

CAR was the original color, but it only remained under the pickguard. I would never have chosen CAR, but it couldn't be anything else.

I taped over the spots where the paint was completely gone. Any refin is fake, but this was faithful to the original wear. I restored it--just not to factory. It sounds asswards, but it worked. This is where artistic abilities trump technical skills. And tele wiring is pretty simple, and well documented.
