Mustang bass project

I'm getting a Mustang Bass neck from h8mtv and I needs me some templates for the body/pickguard.

Are 'stang guitar and bass bodies the same size?
Do any of you have a template for the body and pickguard?
What color should I paint it?
Should I do anything wild and crazy with this project?

I can trace the body for you if you'd like. I actually like the neck on my bronco bass better so I swapped them. FYI, they are not an exact fit, the bronco bass neck is a bit wider at the heel.

It would appear the diff in a Mustang and a Mustang bass pickguard is that a bass pickguard doesnt have a cut in for the bridge on the bottom there.

Here's the guitar that I'm going to base the bass off of. I've also got a spare mapple neck that I can put on it.

What sort of router bits and things should I get to be able to make the body here at home?
I've never done this sort of thing before "unsupervised"
