Gig Bag for Short Scale Acoustic

Post by twangster »

Can anyone give advice on a nice padded gig bag for my Santa Cruz Firefly Acoustic guitar? It measures 36"x13"x3.75". Thanks!

I have an Art and Lutherie Ami. The bag it came with is super. They may sell them solo, or that may what you want to use for some search criteria.

I only ask because I wouldn't be comfortable in any capacity with a 3k plus acoustic guitar in anything but a really nice hard shell case.

It came with a case but I need something I can lug around an airport with my other baggage. I won't be checking it so a really padded gig bag with backpack style straps should do the trick.

Sometimes the airline will insist that you check a guitar. I'd be very nervous about using just a gig bag.

Yeah, I've had trouble on planes with even ukuleles. Had to beg a couple of times to get them in overhead bins.

Unless you've taken it before, have confirmation that it's cool and are the persuasive type, I wouldn't risk it.
