I have a 1958 Star EG-80B which is the same solid body electric guitar as a Guyatone LG-60B. These were the first Japanese solid body electric guitars to be imported to and sold here in Australia using the "Star" brand name. Not 100% original, the neck pickup surround and cover is missing, the single coil bar magnet pickup needs repairing. The four 1950's white "knobs" are not original (neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume, master tone and pickup selector). The truss rod cover is also non original. Everything else is original.

Weeellll. Shortscale was totally an assumption. It felt shortscale....but since then I bothered to measure it and I believe it be 25" scale.

At the nut end: nut is about 40mm, though the neck is more like 41mm wide. The 'depth' or thickness of the neck at that point is about 23mm approx.

At 12th fret: 47mm wide, and about 31mm approx deep/thick. At its thickest point before turning into the neck heel it's about 34mm.

I guess there's a bit of extra girth available (in theory) to a set-neck as you don't have to contend with the body heel socket, or the neck would sit high up above the body at such thicknesses. That being said you could simulate the same thing if the apex of the neck curve was 'higher' than the bit that sits in the pocket, if you ken what I mean.
