Yeah, the very best Strat does rather knock everything else out the way.on all counts of playability. The only thing is I think I'd need smaller dimensions on the neck these days - maybe 24" scale with a slim fretboard all the way up. But that doesn't really exist.

I've gotten pretty used to my Ovation Viper as my go-to....if I had to temporarily be with only one guitar for a few years, I think that's the one. Pretty much the perfect telecaster in a smaller more comfortable body, solid built, beautiful sound, and the pickups are hot enough to do fake humbucker rawk tones.
Well, I'm workin in Cuba for three months and was not about to bring a valuable guitar. I brought my late 1990s Jazzmaster knockoff by Samick. It really plays as well as my better guitars but I paid only $100 USD (used).
...and I brought my Danelectro Honeytone Mini amp. Just love how this little guy tries so hard... and so well... to match its big brother, the late 1990s Danelectro HT 50.

My options are
MIJ Jaguar
66 Coronado (probably not taking this due to value)
Modded Squier 51
Parts Jazzmaster
??
Also what would you personally want as your one and only?
Don't see strat on your list of choices, but as others have mentioned I would choose a strat for all the same reasons stated above.
