We are looking for a basic interface so as to record rehearsals into laptop (logic).
It would need to have 4 tracks for drums-guitar-synth and voice or sampler but it could also be 6 or 8 track if price is good. I checked couple ones online but I trust shortscale can suggest some good budget options.
4 track audio interface suggestions

I've got one of these: http://uk.focusrite.com/usb-audio-inter ... arlett-8i6
It's described as having eight inputs but two of these are loop backs from your DAW and two are digital S/PDIF (which maybe you could use for your synth). Two of the four analogue inputs are combo XLR/TRS inputs and the other two are TRS.
It feels solidly built and has worked well for me. I don't record live drums though and you may need more inputs for miking up a kit?
