Maybe a bad toggle switch. Are you sure they are not both on? I turn up the volume on the guitar and amp and then point and click my tv remote really close at each pickup to tell if they are on when selected.

yeah, the toggle...well, maybe just a wiring problem? basically it is a standard les paul with p90 with single vol and tone..

going white now..this is white pigment, I will mix it with hard oil and finish the first layer as kind of stain.
