So, what SS Guitar should I get?

The original shortscale guitars; Mustangs, Duo-Sonics, Musicmasters, Jaguars, Broncos, Jag-stang, Jagmaster, Super-Sonic, Cyclone, and Toronados.

Oh nice, you finally got one. Where did you get it?

I agree with what Dots said above. I'm only playing Squiers these days and they're awesome guitars. The feel, fit and finish simply don't compare to the AVRI series though. It's sad that the AVRI have gone up in price so much. I sold my AVRI Jag and was hoping to pick up an AVRI JM at some point. With prices spiraling out of control, I'll probably just go MIJ.

Luckily I agree with Honey that many of the MIJ feel great. The Jag HH was never one of my favorites, but I really like the feel of the MIJ 'stangs such as the Pawnshop, the 65 RI and teh Kurdtz.

If you have an AVRI 62 Telecaster Custom you could trade for this gem on craigslist. Not a bad first shortscale.

$849 for vintage sunburst Mustang in Amarillo, Texas. This what my Mullet-stang would have looked like stock. 3 tone sunburst on Mustang is so amazing.

Maybe I'm judgmental but I really think mid to late-70s Mustangs have zero value for me. As in I'm willing to pay way more for a newer Japanese Mustang than a 70s one that's probably going to somehow be 8 pounds. They just seem clunky, heavy, and overrated to me.

Early 70s and late 60s Mustangs, though, those are sexy.

That is a gorgeous 3 tone sunburst on an Ash Body with contours. Unless the neck is a baseball bat, I would totally rock that.

Really cool thread I forgot I started lol. I think I'm going to save up for awhile to get a vintage mustang or an AVRI jag. Maybe trade some pedals for one of the squier ones in the meantime.
