Can you identify this shortscale?

Post by ac88 »

My and my friend had purchased this thing for next to nothing a few years back. He slapped some flatwounds on it and it plays great. Plunk city.

I think its a Kay or Harmony or something but I haven't been able to find anything online. Does anybody know?

I'm like 98% sure that's a kay. I swear I've seen it before...

The headstock shape, bridge, tail piece, tuning pegs and colour scheme look almost exactly the same as a super-old Encore I have. So, perhaps an Encore?

I am thinking this too, but I can't find any with this type of headstock. Now to scour http://kingofkays.com/.

Holy shit that's the same guitar! Although it's in better condition than mine... I've never seen another one, that's mega cool. It's at my parents' house at the moment so I wasn't able to check the headstock shape, but yeah you're right, it's not exactly the same.

just noticed the bridge is identical to mine, except mine is missing the spring. I think you are onto something.

Excellent first post. Solved a mystery and left a couple of pics. You'll do well here.
