Soo a quick update! :) thinking about getting a JB jr for the bridge though. Pickguard just came in today from WD. Quite pleased with it. Image

Looks awesome. Only thing that would make it more awesome? Maple board. But that's personal taste.

The maple really throws the colour combo off. I'd do a black guard with that or a white one with black covers. How is that neck?

Yes. I still don't get the tort-on-burst thing. That neck and that body look so right together, though.

Red tort to be different. Not very many burst mustangs with red tort. The neck is pretty cool. It has the original tuners. Someone scalloped it but refinished it. Not bad. Really great for only $80.00 lol. I think it will look a lot cooler with strings on it. The red tort is growing on me. Plus I payed too much for it to not use it haha.

I think it's more the red tort with maple board that is throwing it off, not the red tort on the sunburst. Sunbursts with red tort are common on strats with rosewood fretboards.

Here is a stock Sunburst Mustang with Maple neck. Bottom line it's your guitar so you do what you want.

Perfect use for that neck. Would rock. Black pick guard and Robroe's would be sweet.

Well. I decided a black guard would look better and I'm thinking of building it with all vintage parts so I took all the parts off to the neck and body. I think I'll pick up vintages 70s parts when I see them pop up cheep.
