Grounding questions

Post by Awstin »

How do you ground a duosonic with out a control plate (the control plate is part of the pickguard)

Also.. Isn't a mustang grounded by the control plate touching the vibrato plate?

Does the bridge need to be grounded?

I am very new to wiring my own guitars so I have no idea. Can you ground with the shielding plates or copper tape? Thanks.

If you can run a ground wire from the bridge, that should work. That's how my Bronco bass is grounded.

Run a wire from the underside of the bridge and connect it to the back of a pot or the sleeve on your output jack.

It should be. But if you think there is a problem, you can always test with an external jumper to see if it helps. Strings need to be grounded. Hands off: hummm hummm, touch the srings: no hummm hummm.

Alright. Because I've never had problems with a mustang. All my plates touch the vibrato plates.
