In need of a Green Muff
I've had a working green Muff-clone for awhile. Sounded ace. But it died on me. Don't know why. So i built another. Which was born dead. So now I'm in the line of getting one that works. Like, works flawlessly for all eternity to come (or at least two years).
Been checking out MBM's and Fredric Effects, the latter being on the expensive side.
What would you guys recommend? Are there any no-name clones out there or am I better off going with Mike? Also -- I REALLY would like some fucked up, sweet looking casing. The one I had was hand-painted by my ex to look like som climbing Ivy.

Never got to A/B them at any one time but my friend in high school had a green sovtek muff he broke, followed by a black one... black was majorly harsh and fizzy by comparison, to both of us. You could dial it in to a less offensive sound but of course he never did.

Thanks for the tip, but guess what...Concretebadger wrote:iirc Mike can build a Muff in the smaller enclosure if you ask for it since the PCB isn't particularly large. It would be within your price range too.vierphoria wrote:A little bit to big. Also, no fancy graphics on level 3. But I have considered it.jagsonic wrote:Then go get a mbm green muff...
My build finally fucking works. It turned out to be a bad joint (yeah, it was a pretty big whatthefuckingfuck-moment when I found it).
So no need to worry. For now...
But thanks to everyone who replied. Much appreciated!

You're thinking of the Boss FZ-2 which was based on a Superfuzz. The FZ-3 however is a Big Muff copy or at least similar.johnnyseven wrote:Agreed. The fuzz 2 setting on the FZ 2 is more muff-like but I wouldn't recommend as a muff alternative.benecol wrote:No, no it's not.71Smallbox wrote:If you're worried about size, get a Boss FZ-3, it's a Big Muff in Boss clothing.
